Bernard A. Krooks, Esq., a founding partner of the New York-based law firm Littman Krooks LLP and chair of its elder law and special needs department, is bringing his knowledge to the West Coast.

New York, NY (Law Firm Newswire) October 29, 2010 - Nationally recognized in all aspects of elder law and special needs planning, Mr. Krooks will be a guest speaker at the 47th annual National Association of Estate Planners and Councils Conference, held November 17-19, 2010, in San Diego, California. He is currently president of the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County.

New York Elder Law and Estate Planning Lawyer, Bernard Krooks “It is an honor and privilege to speak at this much anticipated event, hosted by the association of choice for estate planning professionals,” Mr. Krooks said. “During times of economic uncertainty, it’s more important than ever for individuals to take steps to preserve their assets. The estate plan is a blueprint for achieving personal goals.”

Mr. Krooks will lead a discussion on Nov. 18 entitled “Elder Law & Estate Planning – Oil and Vinegar?” As our population ages, it is anticipated that more and more people will have a disability, even as government healthcare benefits become more difficult to access and insurance companies become less willing to pay claims. In addition to discussing how to access government-financed health care while preserving the family nest egg, Mr. Krooks will address pertinent tax considerations.

This year’s conference marks the 47th annual event for the NAEPC, which is based in Cleveland, Ohio. The mission of the NAEPC is to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to estate planning by supporting local estate planning councils and their members and by encouraging the formation of new councils.

The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. For more information, visit http://www.naepc.org.
